Job Specification

A warm, welcoming family based in the heart of Mayfair are seeking an experienced, professional, and nurturing live-out nanny to care for their first child, a happy three-month-old baby. This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for a career nanny who is passionate about supporting children through their early years whilst building a lasting relationship with a lovely family.

The role will begin on a shared-care basis, working alongside a hands-on mother who is at home, with the expectation that the successful nanny will naturally take on greater sole-charge responsibility as trust and confidence develop. The family are looking for someone warm, approachable, and knowledgeable, who can become a trusted and valued part of their child's upbringing.

This is an ideal opportunity for a career nanny who enjoys working with first-time parents and takes pride in providing reassurance, guidance, and expert support throughout the early years. The family are seeking someone who can confidently introduce each developmental stage, from establishing routines and beginning weaning to encouraging developmental milestones and learning through play, whilst remaining respectful of the parents' individual approach to raising their child.

Initially, the working hours will be 10:00am–7:00pm, with the expectation that these will gradually increase as the baby grows and routines naturally evolve. As the mother is home-based, there is no requirement for very early starts, although an occasional 9:00am start may occasionally be requested.

The family enjoy travelling throughout Europe and Dubai and are looking for a nanny who is happy to accompany them on trips throughout the year. During travel, all accommodation and reasonable expenses will be covered, together with a travel allowance of £400 per 24-hour period.

This is a genuinely lovely opportunity for an experienced nanny seeking a long-term role with kind, respectful employers who value professionalism, discretion, and a collaborative approach to childcare.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing attentive, loving, and developmentally appropriate care for a three-month-old baby.
  • Supporting the baby's established bottle-feeding routine, currently feeding approximately every three hours.
  • Planning and engaging in age-appropriate activities that encourage sensory exploration, early learning, and developmental milestones.
  • Supporting and developing healthy routines for feeding, naps, sleep, and overall wellbeing.
  • Assisting with the baby's evening routine, including bath time, story time, and settling for bed, whilst remaining flexible as routines naturally evolve.
  • Preparing bottles and sterilising feeding equipment.
  • Keeping the nursery, play areas, toys, and the baby's belongings clean, organised, and well maintained.
  • Preparing the baby's changing bag and essentials for outings and travel.
  • Accompanying the family on UK and international travel when required.
  • Working collaboratively with the parents whilst offering professional guidance and support when appropriate.
  • Ensuring the baby's safety, happiness, and wellbeing at all times.
  • Adapting responsibilities as the child grows and developmental needs evolve.

A full-time housekeeper is employed, therefore responsibility for the baby's laundry and bed linen is not required. The nanny's focus will remain solely on providing outstanding childcare and supporting the child's overall development.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant professional nanny experience caring for babies from infancy.
  • Excellent knowledge of infant development, routines, sleep progression, weaning, and early years milestones.
  • Confident supporting first-time parents with warmth, professionalism, and discretion.
  • A calm, nurturing, proactive, and highly organised approach.
  • Comfortable working within both shared-care and sole-charge settings.
  • Flexible and happy to travel internationally with the family.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Comfortable working around a small family dog.
  • Fluent English is essential.

An additional language would be highly advantageous, although not essential. Languages of particular interest include Russian, French, Italian, Mandarin, or Arabic.

A confident driver would be welcomed, with parking available should the nanny wish to commute by car, although driving is not essential.

Salary & Benefits

  • £23–£25 net per hour, depending on experience.
  • Live-out position based in Mayfair, London (W1J).
  • Initial working hours of 10:00am–7:00pm, with the expectation that these will increase over time as the child grows.
  • Regular international travel to destinations including Europe and Dubai.
  • Travel allowance of £400 per 24-hour period when accompanying the family.
  • All travel, accommodation, and reasonable expenses are covered whilst travelling.
  • Opportunity to become a valued, long-term member of a warm and welcoming family.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced career nanny looking to establish a long-term relationship with a lovely first-time family. The successful candidate will be kind, engaging, and highly experienced with infants, bringing confidence, warmth, and professionalism whilst supporting the family through every stage of their child's early development.
